If dissolved with turpentine, they can be used for gilding, creating a fantastic imitation with metallic reflections of gold and silver.

Tips for Easy Application of Decorating Waxes

3. Be careful with the amount of wax you apply – if you apply too little, it will absorb like cream and the desired effect will not be achieved; if you apply too much, the effect will be a sticky surface that will take a long time to dry completely.
4. Despite everything, once it is completely dry, carefully inspect each part and corner and if you notice dry spots, repeat with another layer.
5. Finally, use an old T-shirt to remove excess wax, ensuring it is not wrinkled while doing so, as this will affect the decoration of your object.
6. Do not limit yourself to using only clear wax. Instead, experiment with all the colors available on the market. You can even mix different colors to create your own.
7. When you start applying the decorative wax, start the process from the edge of the object, or if it is something with legs like a table or chair, start from one leg, then remove the excess wax and continue with the other parts.
8. Let the decorated object dry for at least 24 hours, then wipe again with a cloth or brush that does not shed. You can use a buffing brush for this purpose.

When working with antique aging paste, it is very important to take a small amount from the container using a small knife or spatula, then apply it to the decorated surface with a brush, fingers, or a cotton cloth.

Another tip is not to dip directly with fingers, dirty cloths, or wet brushes into the jar to avoid contaminating the product, thereby changing its properties.

For the base of the decoration with decoupage pastes, any well-cleaned surface can be used, and it is recommended to prime porous surfaces beforehand.
